In this course the students will learn to paint with oils as old masters did in 15-17 century Italy and Belgium. The technique is surprising easy, however it requires initial "seeing" excercises and drawing in depth before the actual painting begins.

The students need to purchase all the materials they use in class because they need to work at home too. I suggest after the initial meeting they buy their materials and bring them with them.
-Initially 7tubes of paint- Primary yellow, Phthalo blue, Cobalt blue, alizarin red, cadmium red, Raw Umber, Burnt Umber, titanium white, mixing white, mars black.
-Reusable cloth- Cotton or Old t-shirts for example. No paper towel or microfiber, please.
-3 Glass jars, marmalade jars are fine.
-Linseed oil, bleached
-One 50x50 canvas for the first session
-Good artist quality brushes, both synthetic and natural.
-Paints need to be artist quality and not kids or hobbies paints
On occasions, there may be some more materials to be bought and brought in if and when advised by the instructor.
