Biography

Richard Blackwell is an Australian Artist who’s interdisciplinary practice intersects sculpture, printmaking and digital fabrication. Richard relocated to Chicago in 2012 as a Fulbright Scholar to complete an MFA from the School of the art institute of the Chicago from Canberra, Australia, where he completed his undergraduate study at the Australian National University school of art. Richard’s work is exhibited regularly and is held in collections internationally. In 2011 Richard was engaged in the first of two opportunities to realize public sculptural commissions in downtown Brisbane Australia. 

Exhibitions

Richard Blackwell is a recipient of the 2012 Fulbright Scholarship. He recently exhibited new works in his solo exhibition, Yes is More, and in 2011 exhibited his major series GROTTO - an exhibition in 3 volumes, which was shown in Canberra, Melbourne and Chicago, and was supported by the Australia Council of the Arts. His work has recently been collected for ARTBANK and his work was recently profiled in Australian Art Review.
