21) Interior Design: Living Room

Through this class, participants will be able to create their dream living room, It’s designed to get you started on your creative journey and help you understand interior design and decor. It will help you understand the basics of design and colour matching, furniture styling, storyboards and essential principles of design. As well as guiding the way to explore what sort of area within design participants might like to study.

  • Elements and principles of design
  • Explanation of the colour wheel
  • Core and reject colours
  • Secondary colours
  • Composition techniques
  • Storyboarding
  • Survey and analyze the space and create a floor plan.
  • Define needs, preferences, personal style, 
  • Create proper zoning, good circulation, a focal point, and colour scheme
  • Layouts evaluation.

Items to buy for this class

- A4 Sketch Book
-Pen, scissors, ruler, eraser
-Fine line marker, black 0.8, 0.5, 0.3
- Color pencils

On occasions, there may be some more materials to be bought and brought in if and when advised by the instructor.

Farah Al Qadi

Farah Al Qadi is an Interior Designer and artist, who is currently working in the project management field. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. Although she is a designer by profession her main passion is Photography. She studied street photography and portraiture in Egypt and participated in several photography exhibitions including Street Photographers in Cairo 2017 and Ramadan Bil Masry 2018. Farah expanded her knowledge and applied it to the photographer's community by curating and founding Qatar Photo Walks, which gathers photographers to explore the streets of Qatar through their lens.
