About this class

This course is meant to help the students explore the visual and auditory arts. Will also develop their story telling skills, and team work.

Class Outline
  • In this class the students will be able to make props out of paper, play-doh, and different 3D objects. Making their own short story and work with music to create a final short stop motion animation video. And throughout this course they will get to go on a trip to Doha Film Institute to know more about animation work.

Materials needed

Items to buy for this class

  • apron/any old clothes
  • newspapers magazines 
  • drawing sketch book
  • coloring pencils.
  • Snack for the kids (lunch box). No student will be allowed to share food for health reasons.

On occasions, there may be some more materials to be bought and brought in if and when advised by the instructor.

Ebtesam M. Al-Hothi

Ebtesam M. Al-Hothi (Ebi)
A VCU Alumni, holds a BFA in Graphic design.
Currently working as a Prototype specialist at Dadu-Children’s Museum in Qatar.

Other than her social and active community work with the Qatari community at VCUarts Qatar, she’s also involved with international organizations that are working with kids such as Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) and Best Buddies under the Education City community.

Her work experience includes working with Takashi Murakami during his exhibition titled “Ego” in Qatar, and six years as an instructor at VCUarts Qatar where she worked on the various art-based programs during the summer months. 

With the ability to use Qatari culture within artistic projects by using her skills in illustrating, video-montage and stop-motion animation, she aims to have her students leave class not just with new artistic skills and cultural knowledge, but also with enhanced social skills and behaviors.
