High school students across the Middle East have been challenged to come up with the most imaginative idea for their formula for success. This year's competition, gives students the opportunity to share their visions of the path to success.

Two entrants will win full four-year Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned Scholarships for Creativity at VCUQatar and the top three high school students from each of the twelve countries will receive cash prizes of $1200 for first place, $800 for second place and $600 for third place.

VCUQ Design Competition challenges talented students to explore using design to address meaningful issues of our times. We look forward to honoring the students who submit the best work with cash prizes and two 4 year scholarships to attend our university. " added Charles F. Bleick, VCUQ Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

Khadija Safri from Pakistan was the 2007 winner of the competition. "Winning the Scholarship for Creativity has changed my life, and I am thoroughly enjoying every moment at VCUQatar and so proud to be a student here" said Khadija

Khadija is now a freshman at VCUQ and its adjusting to life at VCUQ extremely well.

"One of the first students I met during orientation week was Design Competition winner Khadija Safri. She was excited, anxious and thrilled about starting her degree at VCUQatar. Her parents accompanied her from Pakistan to help her settle into Doha and the university. Their pride and joy in their daughter's success was palpable. What does success mean to this family? At that moment, success was the formal recognition of their daughter's achievement with the Sheikha Mozah Scholarship and the unknown opportunities her educational path will bring in the future." said Allyson Vanstone VCUQ Dean.
