class of 2011

VCUQ welcomed the forty four students that make up the Class of 2011. This is the first year VCUQ accepts male students, 9% of the new intake were male. As well as Qatari students, the class of 2001 also has students from Egypt, India, Jordan, Namibia, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Sudan, Syria Turkey and the USA.

Admission to VCUQ becomes more competitive every year; the university welcomed this class of highly qualified students who demonstrated good academic skills, English language competency and background in art that suggests the potential to succeed in its degree programs.

"The class of 2011 is a milestone class for us, it's the first year we accept male students. I am so pleased that we have our first student from the Philippines joining us this year. The class of 2011 is full of potential to be fine designers and contribute hugely to the community." said Valerie Jeremijenko, VCUQ Assistant Dean for Students Affairs.

"Again this year, VCUQ was faced with the difficult decision of selecting the most qualified candidates from the many talented individuals who applied. The members of this year's freshman class have been accepted because their credentials evidence outstanding potential from both an academic and artistic perspective. I know that the members of our faculty will enjoy working with them."added Charles Bleick, VCUQ Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

The welcome given by faculty and administration marked the climax of an intense and exciting week of orientation activities, where both students and parents were informed about the challenges and diligence involved in earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.
