Inflatables

VCUQ Art Foundation Students recently took part in a ten day workshop, culminating in an exhibition of the final pieces in the VCUQ atrium.

Students had to work in teams of three to develop a 3 D space. The space was to represent a term that the students had picked from a list of twenty-five. Once students had chosen a term and they had to brain storm, coming up with ideas relating to that term. The list of terms students could choose from included; Elegance, Classical and Versace.

"This is a high energy time for the students and I wanted to invite the whole school to participate. We asked staff members and faculty stop by the Art Foundation studios and see what's going on, offer advice or troubleshoot with the students. Students worked on ideas for models of inflatables that were scaled up and connected to each other in a chain." explained Kipp Green Assistant Professor, Art Foundation.

The aim of the workshop was to teach students the concepts of scale, proportion, teamwork, pattern making, design and planning.
