VCUQ in partnership with the Ministry of Civil Service Affairs and Housing proudly announced Nabina Trading Est as a sponsor of Tasmeem Doha 2007, its annual design conference. The international design conference will take place at VCUQ from 5 - 8 March 2007.
For more than half a century, the name Nabina has been synonymous with commerce and economy. Nabina trading est. was founded in 1951 by the late Mohammad Ibraheem Nabina. Thanks to hard work, honesty and dedication, the activities of the establishment have widened and encompassed so many branches to the extent that its motto became "all the necessities of the modern home under one roof". This is exactly the state of mind of the management, heading towards future planning while preserving the mind of the present and the originality of the past. The establishment has always sought to attract high quality staff and maintain them for the sake of Nabina's continuous prosperity.
The first priority of the management, during more than half a century, was to keep up the customer's trust and confidence. The focus was also on diversifying activities to be added to the continuous contributions in real estate investment i.e. one of the oldest and most famous souks of Doha, the Nabina Souk.

Tasmeem Doha 2007 will include presentations by 15 international designers, a keynote speaker on the opening night, a discussion panel by Qatar's decision makers, breakdown session with the speakers and design exhibitions. Participants will include practitioners, design professors and students from academic institutions and facilities throughout the world.
This year's conference continues the discussion initiated during Tasmeem 2005 and 2006 regarding the important role design plays in shaping our identity, determining our quality of life and driving our economy. VCUQ will host a group of speakers that are representative of the best designers working today, to address this subject.
