VCUQ announced the launch of the Fifth Annual Design Competition in Karachi, Pakistan.

Dr. Charles F. Bleick, VCUQ Associate Dean for Academic Affairs noted, "The VCUQ Design Competition offers talented students from the region the opportunity to compete for a prestigious scholarship to one of the best art schools in this part of the world.  We are excited to be in Pakistan and offer this chance to Pakistani students for the first time.  We wish all the students best of luck for their designs."

Moamer Qazafi, VCUQ Director of Marketing stated, "Design Competition provides all high school seniors a chance at an internationally accredited education. The three country winners can obtain cash to pay for books, or tuition and the top two regional winners get full scholarships at one of the best design universities in the world.  I hope every Pakistani high school senior takes the time to participate in this contest for a once in a lifetime opportunity of a great education at VCUQ."

VCUQ alumni Roohi Zaidi from Pakistan went on to Boston to pursue a Masters Degree in Architecture after graduating from VCUQ. "My VCUQ education has enabled me to work in a professional capacity with confidence in the USA and in Pakistan. I was in Boston for a year 2004-2005 pursuing a Masters in Architecture. As part of the curriculum I was able to get a job as an entry level draftsperson at a local firm based on the skills that I gained while I was at VCUQ," said Roohi.
