Graphic Design Students recently displayed their motion graphics in a gathering which also served as a first SIGGRAPH Doha Chapter meeting. Following the student presentations was SIGGRAPH 2006' finest animations created by the world's most dynamic artists, scientists and entertainers.
"Interweave your senses with 2006's finest films and video achievements by the world's most creative artists, scientists, entertainers, studios and students. VCUQ presents selected animation and visual effects from all over the world." noted Muqeem Khan VCUQ Assistant professor of Graphic Design
"We were so excited about this project, because it gave us a lot of freedom to create our graphics. The idea was to use common perceptions of ourselves, I chose 'moody' as a perception of myself. The amazing thing was that each student's work was so different, however based on their work you could tell which student it belonged too." explained Duha Ahmad, VCUQ Graphic Design Student.
"These days artists and designers constantly discourse through the use of emerging technologies. This changing paradigm of innovative communication has generated interesting thoughts, unconventional ways of doing things and provides a new perspective." added Khan.
