VCUQ offers non-credit classes as part of it's mission to provide educational, cultural and design opportunities to the Qatari community. This season the course offerings will include eight different classes in different design areas by noted local and international instructors. All classes are open to both women and men and are taught at the VCUQ campus located within the Education City Campus on Al Luqta Street.
In the Fashion Area alone there will be classes in Silver Jewelry making, Fashion Modeling, Fashion drawing and Fashion Design. Manjulakshmi a fashion and home furnishing designer working in Qatar will introduce students to fashion design essentials including textiles, colors, shapes and silhouettes.
"Community Classes are ideal opportunity for people in the community who work full time and don't have the opportunity to study at VCUQ during the day, to have an introduction to the world of fashion" said Manjulakshmi.
In the area of Graphic design there will be classes in the use of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator teaching the community members to use the same high-end software tools used by industry professionals.
Other classes offered this term include an Introduction to Fashion Drawing, and a lecture series on European Art from Baroque to Neoclassicism.
