Atrium Technology

VCUQ has recently completed installation of a dynamic audio and video system.

VCUQ now boasts the only large venue facility at Education City which can seat more than 450 people. This facility was recently enhanced with a state-of-the-art audio and video system. The video wall consists of 16 separate 50" rear-projection screens that are combined into one single video wall. These displays can be operated individually, as one large display, and as any combination in between.

A robust sound system and seven additional video displays are dispersed throughout the Atrium as well. Video cameras are embedded in the wall and ceiling so that events can be recorded and even broadcast in real-time over the Internet. Of course remote events can be received and shown in the Atrium as well.

This project was completed by Technomight, a local audiovisual company who excels in these types of facilities.

"The system is fantastic! Previously we had to rent equipment for each event and this was time consuming and costly.  VCUQ is now equipped to accommodate events all year long.  We are really excited about the possibilities of the audio and video system and are pleased to make it available to our colleagues within Education City by reservation." said Dr. David Ayersman, VCUQ Chief Information Officer.
