Programs and Curricula

The curriculum for each program takes four years to complete, and each academic year consists of two 16-week semesters.  The program of study for each department is consistent with the standards of education in the United States.  A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from VCUQ is awarded upon successful completion of all the requirements of the individual program.

The studio model followed by VCUQ requires students to participate in both informal critiques and formal jury presentations where they must discuss and defend their design decisions before their peers, instructors, and outside evaluators.

The program at VCUQ is logically sequenced to provide systematic learning and to reinforce important concepts as students proceed through the program.  VCUQ curricula emphasize excellence that combines both contemporary and traditional methods of teaching so that students are equipped with the essential tools necessary to expand their ingenuity and become flourishing designers.

Each of the three degree programs - Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Interior Design - reflect the structure, curricula, courses, and general requirements that are equivalent to those at the campus in Richmond, Virginia, USA.

Functional design promotes purpose.

Personal instruction proves most effective.
