About VCUQatar
Vision and Mission
VCUQatar exists to foster a scholarly climate that inspires creativity, a free and open exchange of ideas, critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, freedom of expression, and intellectual integrity.
This vision is achieved through the development of innovative programs in design that will establish permanent intellectual connections between the school and its constituents, and enhance professional competency.
VCUQatar's vision is aligned with and supports the vision of the VCU Richmond campus and the Qatar Foundation vision to develop and utilize human potential. We are inspired by our aligned visions and are focused on creating societal value through ongoing student development. Our vision ultimately will be realized through educating leaders in their respective fields throughout the world.
The mission of VCUQatar is to provide excellence in design education in the areas of Graphic Design, Fashion Design and Interior Design using the curriculum and faculty resources of Virginia Commonwealth University and its School of the Arts.
Through its programs VCUQatar prepares graduates to become productive citizens who are able to contribute to the professional and cultural growth of Qatar and the Gulf area. Their rich and varied educational experiences will introduce them to new ideas and the breadth of knowledge to successfully face the challenges of the future.
