About VCUQatar
Dean's Welcome
On behalf of Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCUQatar) let me extend to you a warm welcome. VCUQatar is an accredited branch campus of the renowned Virginia Commonwealth University, which has helped individuals in the United States fulfill their aspirations to become designers and artists for more than 75 years.
We are privileged and honored to work with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development led by the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned and we have been a part of Education City since its inception.
VCUQatar delivers an outstanding design and visual arts curriculum to our students. Recognized as experts in their disciplines, our faculty guide the students' creative, visual, technical and conceptual explorations. Projects develop their understanding of professional ethics, philosophical design issues and awareness of global cultural, environmental and economic sustainability. Courses provide opportunities to collaborate with a range of local, regional and international organizations and designers. Conferences, symposia, fashion shows, exhibitions, field trips, student groups, guests and internships provide students a unique entry into the contemporary world of design and visual arts.
Graduates from our Fashion, Graphic and Interior Design programs have the educational foundation to step directly into the design profession or continue with their graduate education. VCUQatar is a place for students who are passionate about communicating their culture and creating innovations for the future.
