About VCUQ
Culture & Diversity
VCUQ promotes an environment of excellence and access; values social, cultural and racial diversity and provides a climate that respects human dignity and supports creative thinking and collaboration. This commitment to diversity is reflected in the makeup of our faculty and student body. The faculty, while predominately originating from and educated in the United States of America represents many minority groups and the 200 students currently enrolled at VCUQ come from 26 countries, including Middle Eastern, Asian, African and Western nations.
The VCUQ facility combines modern and traditional architectural features reflecting our respect for the heritage and rich culture of Qatar. Both students and faculty are encouraged to participate in programs and research that promote civility, the building of community, effective cross-cultural communication, and equity and inclusion. The gallery and guest artist program features artist and designers from around the world, and Tasmeen, our design conference annually gathers students, artists and designers from numerous countries.
