VCUarts Qatar Alumna Featured in Dezeen

VCUarts Qatar alumna Aisha Al-Sowaidi is featured in the latest edition of the influential architecture, interiors and design magazine Dezeen.

Aisha is one of five designers from the Arabian Gulf who are collaborating with furniture brand BD Barcelona Design and arts organization Creative Dialogue on a project to that aims to celebrate Arab creativity called the PostCraft Collection.

According to BD Barcelona, “the PostCraft Collection initiates a new era in local design that merges technology and heritage, innovation and tradition, local and global talent to present high quality works that nourish the contemporary design scene.”  

The collection will be launched at the BD Barcelona London showroom at 12-14 Berry Street this Friday from 6:30PM to 9PM. 

Creative Dialogue Association (CDA) is a non-profit independent association based in Barcelona. CDA said that it “devotes itself to devising and implementing programs focused on creative human capital development in the area of creative economy.” 

Aisha is also one of 20 VCUarts Qatar alumni whose work “All Ways Giving Bowl” is currently on display at an exhibition called 20/20/20 at the Gallery at VCUarts Qatar. The 20/20/20 exhibition is open until October 21. Aisha’s work has also been exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery in London, and at Alriwaq in Doha.
