VCU Richmond 2008 Graduation Ceremony

VCUQatar alumna Shaikha Ali Al Mansoori Interior Deisgn Student and Salutatorian for the class 2008 recently took part in the VCU Richmond and School of the Arts Graduation.

“Seeing Shaikha walking in line with Richmond students at our home campus was a very proud moment for me.” noted VCUQatar Dean Allyson Vanstone.

Shaikha was very much honored to be the salutatorian of the class of 2008 in VCUQatar and to attend the Richmond graduation. “It was a great honor for me to attend the Richmond graduation. It was an indescribable feeling when my name was called in front of more than 15,000 people, I stood and suddenly the coliseum filled with clapping, shouting and cheering. I really felt that I am home between my family and friends.  I am really proud that I represented my university and most of all represented my country Qatar,” she said.

This graduation was a very remarkable milestone in the VCUQatar and VCU Richmond relationship.

“I was really ecstatic when I heard Shaikha was acknowledged with a standing ovation in Richmond, she worked very hard throughout the years, and I am glad that it has paid off. This was an opportunity for VCUQatar to become more connected with our home campus and we hope there are many more exchanges or this kind in the future.” added Valerie Jeremijenko VCUQ Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.
