Gathering the Tide: An Anthology of Contemporary Arabian Gulf Poetry brings readers into the rich and vibrant world of the Arabian Gulf, offering an understanding of the people and culture of the region through poetry. This anthology offers an exciting collection of poems by poets from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Wednesday March 28th

4:00 - Welcome by VCUQatar Dean Allyson Vanstone
- Recognition of the VCUQatar students who contributed to Gathering the Tide
- Premiere of the Gathering the Tide book trailer film created by VCUQatar graphic design students 5:00 to 6:00 - Panel Discussion with poets 6:00-7:00 - Food & drink in the Saffron Hallway and “Salon” style gatherings for informal conversations between poets, translators and audience members. 7:00-8:30 - Address: John Barr, President of the Poetry Foundation
- POETRY READINGS featuring poets from the Gulf region 8:30 - Book signing in Saffron Hallway

Thursday March 29th
