The course introduces the student to the process of design thinking, styling and image designing, engaging the student to know aesthetic principles and the realm of fashion and its elements, The course gives an insight into evolution of major fashion trends, early sighting of trends, and the trickle down and bubble up of trends. The schedule and syllabus introduces to understand the problems and solutions of an existing or emerging brand in relation to fashion styling & identity in commerce, business and customer experience. it will cover subjects of Fashion styling involved in the editorials, TV and film industry, how to execute concepts in editorial and commercial space, emphasizing on e-styling and its importance in image building for brands, designers, bloggers, publications and fashion set ups. This course also focuses on analyzing, reviewing and discussing different body types in co-relation with the body correction and enhancement. Towards the end of sessions student will develop a portfolio of sketches and imaging coordinating with required colors and body shapes, textiles and thus developing a professional business profile into the fashion market.

Manjulakshmi Bharathan has an expanded career in Design as design educator, practitioner, consultant, and researcher extending into the fields of Fashion Design, Interior Design Commercial and Residential, Jewelry Design, Merchandising, and Sustainable Design with an experience in the Qatar Design Industry for nearly a decade.
She is researching “Sustainable Design Textiles Development and Marketing in the Middle East” and holds an MBA from Mahatma Ghandi University in Kerala and a BA in Costume and Fashion Design from the University of Calicut. She is the Creative Designer of her Couture Label GILLS MANJULAKSHMI and is one of the designers who showcased her bridal and evening wear couture collection at the 7th International Fashion Show and Wedding Exhibition in 2014.
