About this class

This course brings together the elegance of leather, crochet and hand stitching for creating fine bracelets, ear-wear, hair-pins and small accessories. By the end of the course, participants would have mastered the skills and crafted for themselves seven different articles in leather. 

Class Outline
  1. Introduction and practice in leather handling and preparation techniques. Familiarisation with the use of tools.
  2. Project-1: leather bracelet.
  3. Project-2: leather hair-clips and ear-wear.
  4. Project-3: fusion leather and crochet jewelry.
  5. Project-4: tassel ear-wear.
  6. Project-5: stitching and stuffing techniques for accessories.
  7. Project-6: key-chains of various types.
  8. Project-7: Painting and finishing leather.

Materials needed

Items to buy for this class

Participants are required to buy their own materials and bring them to every class

  • FolkArt Metallic Acrylic Paints (2 fl oz / 59 ml):
  • 658 Antique Gold
  • 659 Pearl White
  • Two numbers of No.3 flat brush (Faber-Castell TAKLON or equivalent)

Other materials required for the class can be purchased from the instructor during the class

On occasions, there may be some more materials to be bought and brought in if and when advised by the instructor.

Sangeeta Deepu

Sangeeta Deepu is a multi-faceted handicrafts professional with mastery in ceramics and leather works.

She is passionate about sharing her rewarding experience and is a dedicated teacher. Sangeeta has perfected her own unique method for making ceramic bracelets. She also make her own mosaics for decorative artwork for any space.

Sangeeta has been featured in the Gulf Times Community Sunday Conversation titled Cath’art’ic,  in the cover story Discovery via Creativity in the Qatar Tribune Supplement Chillout. Also in the Society magazine of the Gulf Times.
