46) Interior Design: Scale Model Making

A Scale Model is a three-dimensional representation of a physical model. Scale models are built to study the aspects of a design or to communicate design ideas. This course is designed to help all those wishing to learn about creating scale models of furniture, interior spaces, kiosks or set designs. We will also be creating life size objects!
This course provides a basic introduction to methods of constructing in sheet materials such as cardboard, foam board, chip board, paper (but not limited to these materials).  

As you develop and learn the techniques in this course,  you will gain confidence in creating any structure and be as creative you can be with simple materials!

DAY 2: Fine Construction

DAY 3: Shaping and Modelling

DAY 4: Creating Surfaces

DAY 5: Room Construction

DAY 6: Furniture Construction

DAY 7: Fab Lab - Using laser Cutter to produce intricate structures

DAY 8: Elements of Urban Plan model making

DAY 9: Lighting Fixture / Adding Light in Scale Models

DAY 10: Final Project

DAY 11: Continuation of Final Project and Documentation

DAY 12: Presentation of Final Project

Items to buy for this class

Classroom Materials:

Cardstock / Chart Paper
Scale ruler
Xacto blades
Cutting mat

Student Materials:

Steel ruler
glue gun / glue stick/ superglue and white glue
Pencils/ Markers
Measuring tape
Geometry box

Classroom Setup:

If possible to use Fab Lab just for 1 or 2 classes. designing and cutting using laser cutter

On occasions, there may be some more materials to be bought and brought in if and when advised by the instructor.
